The world was a mess but his hair was perfect by The Rakes

All dressed up with somewhere to go
Got ten new messages on your phone
Keep trying to stop the night from falling to pieces
The night goes on and on and on on on
Where are we going and where’s Steve gone?
This whole night is just falling to pieces

And you go on and on on on
Talking shite through the night
Just trying to stop our arguments falling to pieces
You slag off America in the pub
Saying the war was shite
Then in the club
Drink some Buds and smoke some Marlboro Lights…

The world was a mess but his hair was perfect
The world was a mess but his hair was perfect
The world was a mess but his hair was perfect
The world was a mess but his hair was perfect

"90 mins of pain?"

On the subject of Uncategorized

A couple of weeks ago I finally got the chance to go see an actual live soccer game. It wasn’t exactly a life-long-dream come true, but It had occurred to me in a questionable fashion. “What could all the hype be about? It’s just a soccer game.” I thought. We heard about it that same afternoon, so we got a hold of some last minute tickets(courtesy of Craigslist), so off we went to Chase Field located in downtown Phoenix… It was Mexico vs. Ecuador. All I can say about the experience is, “Wow”, it turned out to be completely what I thought it would be and even exceeded those expectations(which weren’t the highest to begin with). I was overwhelmed by the vivacious atmosphere. The excitement of the people(vociferous chants in unison included), the yelling, the beer tossing with every goal, and of course, the human wave, all came together to make it a truly memorable experience. All around me were painted faces, most of which consisted of the colors green, white, and red, so it was pretty obvious who the people preferred in this case. At first I was trying to keep my cool. “Chill out Nelly, just chill out. It’s ONLY a soccer game. You’ve seen TONS of these on television and not ONCE jumped up from the couch and screamed like an maniac.” But this time was different. This time I wasn’t on the couch, and this wasnt television, so deep within I knew it was only a matter of time before I gave in to all the surrounding excitement. The build-up to the goal was a pleasant anxiety, I think. And when it finally occured, I couldn’t help but scream my lungs out in support. I’m not sure exacly what I yelled, but the yelling itself was somewhat liberating. And from that point on, my inner voice took a backseat until after the game. I didn’t force it to, it just went on it’s own. No doubt the game was good, but the highlight of the night, for me at least, was walking on out afterwards(and not in a negative way)…Mexico had won. People were cheering. People were hugging each other. People were throwing beer and pretty much anything that they were holding up in the air for no other reason other than sheer happiness. what a spectacle! You can only imagine how bad I smelled afterwards since I was basically bathed in beer and god knows what else. After we came out of the stadium, there was none other than a traditional “banda” playing none other than traditional “banda” music as loud as they could, and of course people were just dancing in the street. I felt tempted but decided I had had my share of fun for that night. My conscience was in the passanger’s seat again… Bottom line, I would definitely go to another game regardless of who is playing who because I know I’m going to have fun watching either the game or the people. It’s a win-win situation.

You only live once by The Strokes

Ooooooooh Ooooh Ooooh
Some people think they’re always right
Others are quiet and uptight
Others they seem so very nice, nice, nice, nice, nice, nice…(oh-ho)
Inside they might feel sad and wrong (oh no)

Twenty-nine different attributes
Only seven that you like (uh oh)
Twenty ways to see the world (oh-ho)
Twenty ways to start a fight (oh-ho)

Oh don’t, don’t, don’t get up
I can’t see the sunshine
I’ll be waiting for you, baby
Cause I’m through
Sit me down
Shut me up
I’ll calm down
And I’ll get along with you
ooooooo-ooooooo-oooooh

Oh, men don’t notice what they got
Oh, women think of that a lot…
A thousand ways to please your man (oh-ho)
Not even one requires a plan (I know)

And Countless odd religions, too
It doesn’t matter which you choose (oh no)
One stubborn way to turn your back (oh-ho)
This I’ve tried and now refuse (oh-ho)

Oh don’t, don’t, don’t get up
I can’t see the sunshine
Oh, I’ll be waiting for you, baby
Cause I’m through
Sit me down
Shut me up
I’ll calm down
And I’ll get along with you
Alright

Shut me up
Shut me up
And I’ll get along with you

With you by The Subways

I live my life walking down this street
I meet the faces of the people I see
All the time I see your reflection
All the time I see your reflection
It’s okay to feel alone
It’s okay to be alone
All the time I see your reflection
All the time I see your reflection

Cause when I’m with you
It seems so easy
It seems so easy
My best days are with you
They are so easy
They are so easy

Yeah, I don’t like giving up
Cause giving up is easy
And I’ll see you again
Just tell me where you’ll meet me

When I’m with you
It seems so easy
It seems so easy
My best days are with you
They are so easy
They are so easy, yeah!

When I’m with you
It seems so easy
It seems so easy
My best days are with you
They are so easy
They are so easy, yeah!

"Freaks"

On the subject of Uncategorized

One of my favorite movies is Freaks. This movie has a little bit of everything you would want a movie to have comedy, romance, action, a bit eerie. Freaks it’s considered a horror film only because the movie tells the story of sideshow performers. The thing that I love about this particular movie is that the director Tod Browning used real sideshow performers to play as the characters so theres nothing fake about any of the “actors”. Back in 1932 when the movie came out it was actually only showed in theaters for a short period of time because people took offence to it, it was even banned for 30yrs in the UK. The funny thing about that is that now a days is considered one of the best films ever made. Well I don’t want to say much incase some of you take an interest but I definitely recommend it. So if you have nothing to do for 60 mins I have posted the movie watch it and let me know what you think…..

Mr. Maker by The Kooks

Verse 1:
Mr. Maker he’s got it made
A beautiful wife and a baby on the way
And his bills are already paid
No need to skimp, no need to save
But all around him, the world grows hard
He thinks to himself, he must have played a lucky card
If he was alone he’d give it all away
To people and things, that he wanted to save

Chorus 1:
But oh no, it’s alright
Mr. Maker, he’ll be fine
It’s alright, it’s OK
Because of the love he gave away
Oh yeah
Oh yeeeeeeeah

Verse 2:
Doesn’t stop to think it’s because of he
Always doing right, he stays healthy
The girls in the alley won’t get a hold of him
He’s got no time for that kind of sin
And he, he’s not a member of the Catholic Church
The pastor of his town got sent down for dirt
He sees the boys from Sunday school
It’s hard to believe what he read in the morning news

Chorus 2:
But oh no, it’s alright
Mr. Maker, he’ll be fine
It’s all right, it’s OK
Because of the love he gave away
Oh yeah
Oh yeeeeeeeah

Bridge:
Heart beat, stay heavy
Love us all please, stay on your feet
For me
For me, stay on your feet for me
For me, stay on your feet for me

Chorus 3:
But oh no, it’s alright
Mr. Maker, he’ll be fine
It’s alright, it’s OK
Because of the love he gave away
Oh yeah
Oh yeeeeeeeah
